deadroses // a dojae au
Two weeks and then it’s over. These are the rules Jaehyun sets for himself when it comes to hookups and it’s always worked out for him. Until one day, one of these hookups shows up as the new member of his department.
Jaehyun doesn't do relationships, he never has and he doesn't think he ever will. It's too much work to devote all you time to one person, especially with the job he does. As CFO to Neo industries, he doesn't have the time to date.
Instead, he fulfils he needs with the company of various hookups met up at high end bars or dating apps. He's always kept physical pleasure separate from emotions so it works for him. His only rule is that no hookup last longer than two weeks, no matter how good they are in bed.
He's knows that after two weeks it starts to get into risky territory where feelings start to get involved. Of course never from his side. That's when a typical hookup will start getting clingy and needy and Jaehyun has no desire to deal with that. It's a favour he's doing them,
cutting off any and all relations cleanly before it gets even worse. He never sees them again and after that it's just rinse and repeat. It's the way Jaehyun's always lived his life and it's worked for him. Up until now.
"Mark, I need another order of roses delivered by Monday," Jaehyun instructs his assistant.
"Really? That's like the third on this month," Marks complains, "They lady at the shop already thinks I'm insane for wanting to buy dead roses all the time."
"Does it matter? You're giving them money for something they'd throw away anyway. She probably thinks you are doing her a favour."
Mark huffs. His boss has always had a flair for the dramatics.
"Just cus he's good in bed doesn't mean I like him. Besides, you know my rules."
Mark does and he still thinks it makes Jaehyun a dick for it. The last guy cried when Mark showed up and at his door and handed him the roses.
It's not something he expected to be in his job description when he first signed on, but he's being paid a ridiculous amount so there's little can do to defy his boss' orders.
"I thought you liked this one," Mark tries to supply, "you had him over almost every night."
It wasn't enough that he had to dump anyone he had any semblance of a relationship with after two weeks, but he also /had/ to do so by sending them a bouquet of dead roses. And as he's trusted assistant, it was Mark's job to hand-deliver these flowers.
"Just text me his address and I'll deliver the flowers."
"I don't actually know his address, we always fucked either at my place or in my car."
"Then how am I supposed to deliver the goddamn flowers?!"
Jaehyun shrugs, "You're my assistant so it's your job to find out."
"But don't do it before Monday, I still wanna give him one more go before I end it completely. I don't think I'll meet anyone as good at sucking cock as him for a while."
Mark cringes, Jaehyun was never one to be silent about his sex life.
"When do you start?" Jungwoo asks from where he's sprawled out across the bed from Doyoung, "I still can't believe you're going to be a real employed adult."
"Monday," Doyoung says with a sigh, "I can't believe it either."
Doyoung's life was going fucking great. He had aced his first interview job interview straight out of college and had landed a position at a decent-sized company with a sizable paycheck. Goodbye student loans and hello moving out of his parent's basement.
Plus the guy he was currently sleeping was hot as fuck. He had met him at a bar almost two weeks ago and they'd hit it off. They didn't really talk much, but that didn't really matter because their mouths were usually otherwise occupied.
"Naw, since I'm in the accounting department I report to CFO, although I didn't get a chance to meet him at the interview."
"I'm excited for you," Jungwoo hums before he props himself up with his chin on hand and gives Doyoung an expectant look,
"now onto more interesting matters, how are things going with the guy you're fucking? Jaehyun you said his name is?"
Doyoung rolls his eyes, shoving his best friend slightly in the shoulder, "it's going alright, he messaged me come over later tonight."
"Ooh, you've been seeing him a lot haven't you?"
"Don't give me that look, it's strictly physical. He doesn't seem like he's looking for a relationship. We don't really do anything except have sex."
Jungwoo narrows his eyes, "Sounds like a bit of an asshole to me."
"I met the CEO at my interview and he seems like a pretty cool guy so I'm hoping everyone else in my department will be cool too."
"Is he gunna be the one bossing you around?" Jungwoo asks curiously.
Doyoung shakes his head.
"You're just saying that cus you and Taeil are practically married, you wouldn't understand the joys of casual sex."
"And you wouldn't understand the joy of waking up in the morning next to the person you love," Jungwoo counters, sticking his tongue out.
"Well, when I meet someone worth doing that with I'll let you know, but for now allow me the simple joy of getting my brains fucked out by a hot guy I barely know."
AUTHORS NOTE: ok kids just realizing now that this may get a little NSFW so yeah, don't say i didn't warn you
There are no greetings or small talk. It’s not necessary. Doyoung is here for one purpose and one purpose only and it doesn’t require many words. Words aside from curses and dirty talk of course.
(did I said a little NSFW cus 😅😅😅, aha next part is 🔞🔞🔞)
It goes like this. Doyoung knocks and Jaehyun answers before he’s even done lifting his hand off the door. From there, mouths clash and clothes are hastily ripped off and thrown on the f
They’ve only known each other for two weeks but Doyoung already knows how Jaehyun ticks. He’s good at things like that. They’re stripped completely naked, it’s more practical this way, clothes just got in the way. Doyoung pushes Jaehyun backwards onto his bed.
He then begins his descent down, slowly trailing kisses down his jaw and along his neck, making sure to suck a quick mark for good luck while he’s there. He tongues along the sharp edge of his collarbone, carefully nibbling at the soft skin and nosing his way to his next stop
He falls down easily. Doyoung wastes no time in straddling his hips, lazily grinding their quickly hardening cocks together as he reattaches their lips. Jaehyun groans as he sucks on his tongue, slow and purposely, a preview of what’s to come.
“Come on, Doyoung hurry up,” Jaehyun whines, gripping the sheets underneath him. Doyoung smirks, leaving one last bruise at his hips before he finally gives in to what Jaehyun wants. Partly because he’s feeling nice and
at his nipples. Doyoung marvels at how sensitive Jaehyun’s nipples are so he takes his time wrapping his lips around each one, lavishing each nub with his tongue and sucking on it until it’s puffy and red.
It is only when he deems Jaehyun’s whines to be high and desperate enough that he stops and moves on.
He loves how he can make Jaehyun fall apart before they’ve even started. He traces his tongue along the lines of his glorious abs and briefly into the dip of his belly button.
“Fuck,” Jaehyun curses, threading his hands into Doyoung’s soft hair.
If he were a weaker man he’d have half a mind to ask Mark to cancel the order of dead roses. It’s not often he mourns the loss of his hook-ups, but god, was he going to miss Doyoung’s mouth.
partly because his own mouth waters at the thought of having Jaehyun’s thick hard cock in his mouth again. They both moan at the first contact, the vibrations from Doyoung’s mouth sending shivers down Jaehyun’s spine as his cock twitches on his tongue.
This is karma, Mark thinks as he walks up to Jaehyun’s office. Perhaps his boss deserves this after everything he’s put all those poor guys through. And what he’s put Mark through, can’t forget that one too.
It’s funny really, he had been wracking his brain on how the hell he was going to track the address of Jaehyun’s latest dalliance off of just a name when his boss walked in. Not Jaehyun his boss, but his BOSS’S boss, Johnny, the CEO of Neo Industries.
His name is Kim Doyoung by the way!”
Mark smiled back at Johnny, nodding along, the department had been short-staffed for a while now and it was about time that they hired someone new.
It is only then that he fully processed Johnny’s words, fully process the /name/ of the new hire before feeling all the blood drain from his face. Surely there was no way it could be the name Kim Doyoung that Jaehyun has been dicking down for two weeks?
“Oh hey Mark,” Johnny had greeted him cheerfully, “I just wanted to come down and check that everything is all set up for the new hire when he comes in on Monday.”
Oh right, they had hired someone new to the finance department.
He had been too preoccupied with trying to help Jaehyun dump his latest fling that he’d forgotten about that. “Not yet, but I’ll get right on it sir!”
Johnny smiled, “Perfect! I have a good feeling about this one and I think he’ll make a great addition to the team.
If Mark had a choice he would choose to be Johnny’s assistant instead in a heartbeat, a thought he voices to Johnny every time he sees him. Johnny usually just laughs it off and reminds Mark that he already has an assistant, Donghyuck. Curse Donghyuck.
“Wait!” he called out, “Right as Johnny is about to press the elevator button to leave. If you don’t mind me asking, what does this Kim Doyoung look like? Just so I know who he is when I see him.”
With that, Johnny had confirmed all of Mark’s suspicions. This was going to be interesting to say the least. So now he’s standing in front of Jaehyun’s door, pacing as he tries to think of how the hell he’s going to explain to Jaehyun that the guy he’s trying to ghost is
“Of course,” Johnny nodded, “he’s slim and stylish with black hair and sharp eyes. Kinda looks like a bunny rabbit. He’s pretty cute if you ask me but don’t tell anyone I said that or they’ll think I hired him just for his looks.”
going to be his new employee. He can imagine it would make things in the workplace more than a little awkward. Mark takes a deep breath and enters the office, might as well get it over with.
Jaehyun shrugs, “Who cares? It’s not like I’ll ever see him again. It’s not in your job description to be asking me so many questions. I gave you a task to do so I’d like it if you’d do it.”
Mark bites his tongue.
“you know how this all works, I don’t see why you need to confirm any of this with me.”
Marks shifts in place, “Are you sure? Wouldn’t it be a bit humiliating for him to be dumped in front of all his coworkers and boss like that?”
“I found Doyoung,” he starts, holding his breath as he waits for Jaehyun to prompt him to go on.
“Okay?” Jaehyun looks up with a raised brow, “So deliver the flowers now.”
Mark clears his throat,
He had every intention of warning Jaehyun but now he thinks maybe it’s best if he leaves it. If Jaehyun wanted the task done then he would get the task done alright, no questions asked.
“Let me clarify. I didn’t manage to find out where he lives, but I did figure out where he works. He’s actually about to start a new job.”
“Then just deliver the flowers to his workplace. Easy,” Jaehyun states before looking back down at his laptop,
“Yes sir,” he grits out, “and by the way, the new hire is starting on Monday so make sure you’re prepared for that.” Jaehyun simply grunts and gives his a half-hearted wave of acknowledgement.
He’s no longer paying attention to Mark so he figures it’s time for him to take his leave. After all, he had a flower order to make.
- Even Doyoung gets first day nerves. It’s a new environment with new people and to make matters even more nerve wracking, he hasn't even met his boss yet. Even so, he’s ready, excited and armed with a good luck text from Jungwoo.
“This is Mark,” he gestures beside him, “and he will be showing you the ropes today. I’ve got to run now but I’ll make sure to check in on you during lunch.”
Fortunately, the nerves are eased the moment he steps into the building when he’s greeted by a grinning Johnny and a boy beside him that looks even more nervous than Doyoung.
“Good morning Doyoung,” Johnny welcomes him brightly and Doyoung can’t help but smile back.
“And this is your desk. I will leave you to get settled in, bye.”
Marks squeaks out the last part and before Doyoung can even turn to him and thank him for the tour, he’s gone.
“Thank you,” Doyoung says gratefully before they part ways.
If everyone here was going to be as friendly (and handsome) as his CEO then he’s sure he’ll have a great time.
“Alrighty,” Mark speaks up, voice sounding hesitant, “If you follow me, I’ll show you to your desk.”
Doyoung follows Mark quietly. He was an interesting one, this Mark. Reminds Doyoung a bit of a deer caught in headlights but he seems nice enough so he shrugs it off.
He lets Mark lead him up to the floor of the finance department and then through a quick tour of the floor.
“That’s the meeting room, and this is the staff room and kitchen. Over there is the CFO’s office.”
Doyoung looks over at the shut door to the office. It’s strange that he hasn’t met the CFO yet seeing as that’s who he’ll be reporting to. Doyoung hopes he gets to meet him soon.
Doyoung turns back to take a look at his desk, he might as well get settled in like Mark suggests. It’s a plain, empty cubicle and would have been entirely unnoteworthy if not for the bouquet of...were those... dead roses in the middle of his desk?
- Jaehyun checks his watch and stands up from his desk. The new hire should have arrived by now and Jaehyun figures it’s time to make an appearance. He belatedly realizes that he should have asked Mark for more information, he doesn’t even know his name yet.
there Doyoung is standing in front of the desk meant for the new hire and holding a bouquet of dead roses.
His first instinct is to bolt, get himself out of here before Doyoung notices him and makes things more awkward.
Jaehyun has been ignoring his last few messages and he fears at the next one, he’ll give in and sleep with him again. Turns out, Jaehyun doesn’t even have to wait for his next text because the second he steps out of his office,
However, in Jaehyun’s defence, he’d spent all weekend looking for Doyoung’s replacement. An effort that so far hasn’t been successful.
Speaking of Doyoung, Jaehyun wonders if Mark got around to completing the delivery.
Jaehyun is frozen in place as he watches Doyoung’s expression transform at the sight of him, first into confusion and then something more unreadable. His eyes flit back down to the roses. He carefully picks up the card sticking out of the centre of the bouquet,
But he doesn’t get the chance, because as he tries to back away, he slams loudly into the desk behind him, alerting everyone in the office of his presence.
Doyoung’s head whips up, eyes meeting his.
“Dear Doyoung, We shouldn’t see each other anymore. Please don’t try to contact me. -JJH”
eyes furrowing as he reads the words before his gaze is back on Jaehyun again.
Fuck, Jaehyun thinks, it’s too late to run now. He knows full well what the card says, he had instructed Mark on what to write himself.
Jaehyun braces himself for what he knows is about to come. Usually, it consists of some sort of tears and yelling and cursing, maybe even hitting if he’s unlucky. It’s the whole reason why Jaehyun started to send Mark in his place instead of breaking things off himself.
This was certainly a reaction that neither of them could have predicted.
Doyoung drops the flowers onto his desk, shaking his head as he tries to stifle the last of his giggles.
“So,” Doyoung says between gasps when he finally manages to catch his breath,
Everyone is office is looking at him now, wondering what the hell was going on.
Jaehyun thinks he sees his assistant peek his head out from where he’s hiding behind a cubicle to stare at Doyoung with bewilderment.
However, Doyoung doesn’t start crying. He doesn’t even frown. He stands in silence, fixing Jaehyun with a calculating gaze that unsettles him to the bone. And then he bursts out laughing. Hearty and melodic as he looks between Jaehyun and the flowers.
And then it’s over as if it had never happened in the first place. Mark reappears and Doyoung’s attention is back on him again.
“Oh hello Mark, perfect timing. I’m all settled in now.”
Doyoung leans in closer to Mark to seemingly whisper in his ear,
although it turns to be mostly for show because his voice remains loud enough that Jaehyun can still hear him, “and tell our boss, thank you for the flowers. I appreciated the gesture, even if it was a tad melodramatic for my tastes.”
“I take it you’re my boss?”
Jaehyun stares back at him, wide-eyed and slightly fearful. He gives a tentative nod, although he very much feels as he’s not the one in control now.
Doyoung lips spread into careful, “I look forward to working with you.”
Mark looks back at Doyoung in awe. His eyes glance over Jaehyun briefly as if to say /did you just hear him?/ and Jaehyun purses his lips together in a firm line because /yes/ he heard him loud and clear and he has absolutely zero clue how to react. So he doesn’t.
He doesn’t bid Doyoung goodbye or bother to properly introduce himself to his new employee/ex-hookup before turning around and walking straight back into his office.
The next day when Jaehyun comes into work, the dead roses sit carefully arranged in a vase on Doyoung’s desk.
- “So?” Jungwoo asks expectantly the moment Doyoung comes home, “How was your first day of work?”
He’d question how Jungwoo had gotten into his house when he wasn’t even there, but he knows at this point all Jungwoo had to do was show up at his door and
his parents would let him in no questions asked.
“It was alright,” Doyoung shrugs, but the smile growing on his face tells Jungwoo otherwise.
“What did you do all day?” he prods further.
“Mostly just training and getting familiarized with the company,” Doyoung says casually, “I went on a tour, met my coworkers, oh and I had lunch with the CEO.”
Jungwoo’s eyes widen, “First day and you’re already getting cozy with the CEO.
“He treated me. He’s a nice guy and I have to admit he’s not hard on the eyes either.”
Jungwoo just about squeals, clutching at Doyoung in the arm, “forget about the corporate ladder, you’re well on your way to becoming a sugar baby.”
At this rate, you’ll be climbing up the corporate ladder in no time. Do tell me more about this lunch.”
“There’s not much to tell, it was just a lunch,” Doyoung chuckles at Jungwoo’s enthusiasm before looking down to hide the smile threatening on his face,
“Shut up,” Doyoung says, smacking his best friend lightly. He pauses, “I also met the CFO today.”
This catches Jungwoo’s attention, “Oh yeah, isn’t he the one who’s going to be bossing you around? How is he?
The gasp that Jungwoo lets out makes Doyoung wince.
"JAEHYUN? As in sexy, kinda emotionally stunted Jaehyun who has been fucking you into the mattress every day for the past two weeks?"
Doyoung nods sheepishly.
"Oh my god you're fucking your boss. I was just joking earlier but you're actually fucking your boss," Jungwoo starts to freak-out, arms flailing around in the air as he tries to process this information.
"I'm not fucking my boss," Doyoung shoves his friend to get him to stop,
Not as good-looking as Mr. CEO I’m guessing or you would have mentioned him sooner.”
Doyoung’s lips curl into a wry smile, “I wouldn't say that. I've definitely mentioned him and his looks before."
Jungwoo gives him a confused look.
"Jaehyun is my CFO."
Perhaps Kim Doyoung would be the death of him. It's only been a week since he started at Neo Industries and Jaehyun already feels as if he's aged a year.
As an employee, he's impeccable. Quick and efficient with his work and does what's needs to be done without being told.
What are you going to do now though? He's still your boss."
"What do you mean what am I going to do?" Doyoung says, flicking an invisible speck of dust off his shoulder, "I'm going to go to work, be an amazing employee, and get the promotion I deserve."
"at least not anymore."
Doyoung recounts the whole story of how he walked in to find the bouquet of dead roses on his desk.
"Damn, look at you," Jungwoo shakes his head in disbelief, "I always knew he was an asshole, good riddance.
The department has never run more smoothly. That's not the problem. The problem is that Doyoung has taken to showing up to work in the tightest pairs of slacks and his dress shirt buttoned only just enough to be decent.
Doyoung has also made the effort to prance around Jaehyun's face to ensure that he notices. In fact, it's pretty much the only thing he notices anymore. Every time Doyoung catches him staring, which was starting to be a ridiculous amount of times,
He's pretty sure that whatever Doyoung has been wearing has to be against some sort of dress code but it's been a week and neither he or even Johnny for that matter, have pointed it out.
It's not like Jaehyun hasn't tried either. He's gone out almost every night and tried to find someone to bring home. It somehow manages to fall through every single time. Either something comes up, or they back out, or Jaehyun can't get in the mood.
he simply gives him a sweet smile before getting back to work. It's horribly frustrating and to make matters worse, he hasnt been laid in a week either so each time he looks over at Doyoung all he can imagine is peeling those stupid pants off of him and bending him over his desk.
Which is ridiculous cus when he's at work it feels like he's never /not/ in the mood. Doyoung, for the most part remains unbothered and oblivious to his suffering. In fact, he seems to be having a great time and the only time he pays Jaehyun any mind is if it has to do with work.
even taking him out to lunch when he has the time. It's like the whole office has become enamoured with Doyoung and Jaehyun for the life of him can't see why. Like sure, he's a good worker and he's gorgeous and from what Mark says he's actually a really nice guy,
but Jaehyun still doesn't see how that warrants special treatment, and from the CEO no less.
It's only been a week and Jaehyun has had enough.
Even then he mostly goes to Mark first, who gets along amazingly with. After the whole roses incident, his assistant has stopped boasting praises about Doyoung. Even Johnny, the goddamn CEO has been visiting their department more often now just to check up on Doyoung and
- “Here you go,” Mark places a cup of coffee on Doyoung’s desk along with a file folder, “and Jaehyun wants this reviewed by the end up the day.” “Thank you, Mark,” Doyoung says, gratefully picking up the cup, “you didn’t have to get me anything.”
Doyoung simply shrugs at Mark, “I don’t mind. I just wonder why he’s can’t ask me himself seeing as he is the one assigning me all this work.”
It’s true, Doyoung doesn’t mind the extra work. It keeps him busy and he knows he’s good at it.
“It’s no trouble,” Mark says with a smile, “it’s the least I could do with the way Jaehyun has been overworking you. I don’t get why he’s piling so much work onto you when you’ve only just started.”
it's not like he can expect them to be on amazing terms given their history, but he'd appreciate some sort of feedback from his boss. It's not like Jaehyun has been completely ignoring him either. That's something Doyoung's made sure of when he gets himself dressed each morning.
However, since starting at Neo Industries, it feels like Jaehyun has barely said two words to him, choosing to use Mark to relay messages instead. And it's fine with Doyoung, he's grown fond of Jaehyun's assistant and
He feels Jaehyun's eyes on him throughout the day, his gaze piercing and agitated. Although this was all part of Doyoung's original intention, he can't help but feel slightly irritated by the fact that Jaehyun hasn't tried to approach him once.
but Mark was the only one here who knew about Doyoung and Jaehyun's past.
"I don't think Jaehyun's seen anyone after you..." Mark remarks quietly.
It clearly looks like he has something to say and Doyoung kind of wishes that he would just come out and say it.
"Jaehyun is just distracted lately," Mark tries to explain, the awkwardness is evident in his voice, "he says you're doing a good job though."
"He could tell me that in person," Doyoung hums, "but I'm sure he's busy with charming and dumping his next plaything."
Mark nearly chokes on a sip of his own coffee and Doyoung almost feels bad for dragging him into the middle of this whole mess,
"I'm sure you'll be making a trip the flower shop soon enough," Doyoung scoffs, not believing it for a second before he finally releases Mark, allowing him to scamper off to complete whatever other errands Jaehyun has assigned for him today.
Mark usually knows more than he wants to about all of Jaehyun's flings but it's already been far past the usual timeframe of when Jaehyun would have a new man under him. By now he'd have a new victim for Mark to break things off with but Jaehyun hasn't said a peep.
- Stupid Johnny. Stupid, handsome, rich successful Johnny who has somehow decided for the first time in all the years Jaehyun has worked there that the finance department was suddenly interesting enough to warrant a near-daily visit.
It's certainly not to see him. He may be the CFO, but Johnny's visits rarely ever end up in his office and almost always end up taking place covered over the desk of a certain new hire that has been the bane of Jaehyun's existence.
It would seem that he's not been to only who has taken notice of Doyoung's recent outfit choices and another pair of eyes has only joined in on the daily staring at Doyoung time. The only difference is that Doyoung actually talked to Johnny.
Not that Jaehyun is bothered by it, of course, he couldn't care less about Doyoung after breaking off their strictly sexual relationship. He just thinks the CEO of the company should be more responsible and less blatant with his favouritism.
He's also not bothered when Johnny knocks on the door to his office before letting himself him and sitting himself down on the edge of Jaehyun's desk with that stupid grin of his.
"Hey Jaehyun," Johnny starts,
Johnny nods, "I made a good decision hiring that one, I believe he'll be integral to the future growth of our company."
Jaehyun grunts in response. He has no idea where this conversation is going but he's already done with it.
"I just wanted to pop in here and check on how things were settling in with Doyoung here."
Jaehyun holds back his frown, Johnny's spent so much time talking to Doyoung that he's sure he already knows exactly how well he's settling in.
"Fine," he says instead, "he's efficient."
Not true, Jaehyun doesn't really know anything about Doyoung other besides how he sounds in bed.
"I wanted to know," Johnny continues, "if he's single or not. I haven't managed to bring it up in conversation yet but I was hoping you knew to save me some awkwardness."
If Johnny weren't his CEO he would have kicked him out a long time ago.
"I actually came here to ask you something," Johnny leans in closer, "not as your boss, but as a friend. Since you work so closely with Doyoung you probably know him better than I do."
Jaehyun freezes. This was not a question he’d expected to hear come from Johnny’s mouth but at the same time he can’t bring himself to be surprised either. He knew that Johnny had expressed some sort interest in Doyoung but
to now know that he had active intent to pursue this interest didn’t sit right with Jaehyun. A CEO and his employee, that had to go against some sort of rulebook or at the very least it was morally wrong.
“Hey boss and boss,” he says cautiously, “what’s going on here?”
“Hello Mark,” Johnny greets him, “I was just asking Jaehyun here if he knew if Doyoung was single. I want to ask him out a date.”
“Oh!” Mark exclaims, shocked at the admission and Jaehyun grits his teeth,
He knows full well from Mark that Doyoung is completely single. He just can’t quite bring it in himself to say it outloud to Johnny.
Of course, it is at that moment Mark chooses to stroll right into his office, skidding to a startled stop at the sight of the two of them.
“He’s very single, as far as I know. Right Jaehyun?” Mark looks over at Jaehyun for confirmation and Jaehyun has to shut his eyes for a moment to curse at the very sight of his assistant.
“Right,” he says tersely and gives Mark his meanest glare when he opens his eyes again.
The silence is starting to stretch longer than what would be socially acceptable but Jaehyun still doesn’t answer Johnny. He doesn’t want to and he doesn’t have a good reason why either. It’s not like he doesn’t know the answer either.
Johnny doesn’t seem to notice the growing tension in the room, clapping happily at the information as he stands up.
“Perfect, and thank you both. I think I’ll ask him after work today. Wish me luck!”
Mark is the only one that calls out “good luck” after him as
Johnny waves them a quick goodbye and he practically skips out of Jaehyun’s office.
“Fuck,” Jaehyun turns to Mark with a determined look on his face and starts to speak before he he even realizes what he’s saying, “Call Doyoung to my office ASAP.”
- Doyoung hovers outside the doorway of Jaehyun’s office. The minute Mark had walked up to his desk to let him know that Jaehyun wanted to see him he had been suspicious. It’s the first time he’s been called into the office of his boss and Mark had given little explanation why.
In fact, Mark had run off almost immediately after he delivered the message with a nervous look on his face. There weren’t many reasons why Jaehyun could be calling him in to see him and as far as he knew, he hadn’t done anything wrong.
He knocks softly, waiting for Jaehyun to say “come in” before he carefully opens the door and slips in, making sure to close it tightly behind him. He looks up to find Jaehyun staring at him.
The tension builds as the silence goes on, Doyoung fidgets with his fingers as he waits for Jaehyun to say something. He clears his throat and it finally seems to break Jaehyun out of his reverie and he snaps his gaze up to meet Doyoung’s eyes.
Doyoung crosses his arms and quirks an eyebrow up in anticipation.
“Uh,” Jaehyun starts, sounding awfully unsure of himself, “are you free tonight?”
Doyoung blinks, unsure if he’s heard Jaehyun correctly, “Are...you asking me to stay overtime? I mean, I can if you need me to-”
He had no idea what he was going to say to Doyoung he just knew he had to get to him before Johnny did. So now here he was, blurting out the first thing that came to mind and mentally kicking himself for not thinking before he acted.
"I'm not sure I follow," Doyoung says dully.
“No,” Jaehyun cuts him off, “I’m not asking you to stay overtime.”
Going into this Jaehyun’s plan was really just no plan at all. The moment Mark had walked out of his office it had was the moment Jaehyun had realized just what he had asked him to do.
"I was thinking we could go to my place after work," he explains quietly, entire body on edge as he waits for Doyoung's reaction, "it's been a while."
He lets out a breath of disbelief. "You call me into your office for the first time since I've started here...for a booty call?"
Jaehyun huffs, "I wouldn't call it that, but you get understand my general message."
Doyoung narrows his eyes, "I thought /this/ was finished. If I recall correctly I was given the message that we weren't going to see each other anymore along with some dead roses."
Yep, there it was. Jaehyun had been waiting for Doyoung to bring that up and now that he has, he's not sure how to defend himself. And it's no one's fault but his own for even getting himself into this situation in the first place by calling Doyoung to his office.
"Well that was before you turned up at my office as my employee," Jaehyun says, frustration growing.
This was getting nowhere, not that it should've been in the first place. He was breaking several of his self-imposed rules by even asking Doyoung the question in the first place.
But the ball has already started rolling and it's no late to turn back now. Plus, Jaehyun has to admit, the idea of Doyoung in his bed again was quite the appealing thought. He takes a deep, steeling breath as not to get ahead of himself.
"I admit," he begins slowly, "I may have acted rashly there."
Doyoung doesn't look convinced, "Mark told me don't see anyone longer than two weeks. It had been two weeks. I don't see anything rash about your actions."
"Look, I just figured it would be simpler this way, seeing as we already see each other every day. I have physical needs to satisfy and I'm sure so do you. It's not easy to find someone you are compatible with in bed and it doesn't have to get any more complicated than that."
This is where Doyoung is supposed to yell at him. Storm out of the office maybe and scoff at him for such a ridiculous, not to mention inappropriate proposition. Or perhaps he would start laughing again, Jaehyun wouldn't be surprised.
At least this time it would be in the privacy of his own office and not in front of the rest of the office. He already feels humiliated enough as it stands.
Doyoung remains silent for a long time.
"Okay," Doyoung says finally and Jaehyun nearly shoots out of his seat at the unexpected reply, "I'll meet you after work."
And with that, he turns around and walks straight out of the office, leaving Jaehyun with his jaw hanging open and anticipation thrumming in his veins.
He looks at Jaehyun with a slight frown as if assessing his features to determine the sincerity of his words. He kind of just wishes Doyoung would reject him already and get it over with so he can pretend none of this ever happened and go back to avoiding him again.
although he pauses for a moment once he notices Jaehyun’s presence before he continues without a word.
“Hey,” Jaehyun says, “how was your day?”
His words sound so awkward and stilted that he cringes at himself. He should have just stayed silent instead of attempting small talk.
- Jaehyun picks up Doyoung from his desk five minutes before he’s scheduled to end work. He can’t risk Johnny getting to him first and far, the coast looks clear. Doyoung has just begun to pack up his desk,
He doesn’t know what he was thinking, they never do this sort of thing. Doyoung seems to catch on immediately because he says with a frown, “Stop trying with the small talk, it doesn’t suit you.”
Jaehyun clamps his mouth shut right away.
“Oh,” Jaehyun says in surprise, he hadn’t accounted for the possibility that Johnny couldn’t manage to wait until the end of the day to ask Doyoung out.
Jaehyun turns his head to hide the look on disappointed in his face.
“But since you asked,” Doyoung begins slowly, “it was alright.”
He zips up his bag before turning to Jaehyun with a troubled look on his face, “Johnny asked me out during my lunch break. I said yes.”
an anticipation built up slowly over the course of the day for the chance to finally get a release for all his pent up sexual frustration.
He's about to bid Doyoung goodbye and leave with whatever dignity he has left when Doyoung speaks up again, “Are you ready to go?”
That was it then, Doyoung would date Johnny and all his suffering this morning had been for nothing. He’d be lying if he said he hadn’t been looking forward to this evening,
Besides, I said I’d meet you after work and I’m not one to go against my word like that.”
Doyoung has his coat on now and bag slung over his shoulder as he looks at Jaehyun expectantly.
“Right,” Jaehyun says quickly, standing up straight, “let’s go.”
They don’t talk again on the elevator down to the parking garage or on the car ride back to Jaehyun’s place.
Jaehyun looks at him dumbly, “You’re still coming over? But I thought Johnny…”
“What about Johnny?” Doyoung says with a shrug, “I said yes to one date with him, it’s not like I agreed to marry him or anything.
gripping tightly onto Doyoung’s hips as he kisses him back with just as much eagerness.
Doyoung swallows a moan at the feeling, his head is already starting to become fuzzy from lust and the feeling of Jaehyun against him.
“Bedroom,” he breathes against Jaehyun’s lips before carefully maneuvering their entwined bodies towards the direction of the bedroom as Jaehyun busies himself with kissing up the column of his neck.
The door to Jaehyun’s apartment has barely clicked shut before Doyoung shoves him backwards against the wall and crashes their lips. Jaehyun lets out a surprised gasp at the sudden attack but quickly gets a hold of himself,
The back of his legs hit the edge of the bed and Doyoung lets himself fall backwards, pulling Jaehyun along with him. Jaehyun’s hands find their way down to his waist as he gets to work untucking Doyoung’s shirt and unbuckling his belt. Jaehyun gets the zipper down and
Doyoung allows him to palm him over the cloth of his underwear before he grabs his wrist to stop him.
If they are doing this then he wants to be the one in charge. In one swift move, he flips them over so Jaehyun’s the one on his back now and he’s seated over Jaehyun’s hips.
He gets about halfway through the buttons before he gets impatient and just rips the rest of the shirt open. He feels a sense of satisfaction at the sound of the buttons clattering on the floor. Jaehyun could afford a new shirt anyway.
Jaehyun doesn’t protest and lies down, chest heaving and eyes dark as he watches Doyoung peel his shirt off over his head and throw it on the ground before moving on to unbutton Jaehyun's.
He sucks a breath in at the sight of Jaehyun’s naked body as his head pounds and his cock throbs with arousal. Jaehyun is not in much better shape, body flushed and cock laying hard and red against his stomach.
Doyoung scoots lower, settling himself between Jaehyun’s legs and leans forward until his breath is just ghosting over Jaehyun’s cock. His cock twitches at the attention and Jaehyun bucks his hips up in the air to encourage Doyoung to continue.
He gives similar treatment to his dress pants and boxers, yanking them down harshly until Jaehyun is fully naked save for his socks. He momentarily dismounts Jaehyun and discards his own bottoms while he’s at it.
although he continues to whine lowly as he waits for Doyoung to return to the bed, “and don’t touch yourself either.”
Doyoung ignores him for now, seating himself on the edge of the bed, spreading his legs open and uncapping the lube to start the process of prepping himself.
Doyoung is just about to give in, tongue already halfway out when he changes his mind and backs off again. No, he thinks, reminding himself that he’s going to call the shots tonight and right now, he thinks Jaehyun doesn’t deserve a blowjob so he’s not going to give him one.
“What the hell?” Jaehyun protests loudly as Doyoung gets off the bed and heads to the bedside drawer to locate the bottle of lube and condoms he knows Jaehyun keeps there, “Doyoung…”
“Shut up,” Doyoung tells him and Jaehyun doesn’t say another word,
He lets out a sigh at the familiar stretch his own fingers but he’s not doing this for his own pleasure, that would come later. For now, he just needs to get himself ready to take Jaehyun as soon as possible.
He makes sure Jaehyun has a clear view of his actions. He looks frustrated, but sits back and watches Doyoung work, even propping himself up on his elbows to get a better view.
Doyoung is efficient and methodical in the way he preps himself.
Partly because he’s impatient to have Jaehyun inside him again and partly because he just wants this whole thing to be over already.
He still isn’t sure what possessed him to agree to Jaehyun’s offer, but he’s here now and he might as well make the most of it.
This would just be a one-time thing, he tells himself. He'd allow one last indulgence between the sheets to show off to Jaehyun what he gave up and it would never happen again.
At the very least, he deserved the mind-blowing sex, even if he still thinks Jaehyun's a bit of an asshole. As unnerving as it was, Doyoung wasn’t really surprised Jaehyun had propositioned him.
From the way he'd been eyeing him for the past few weeks, Doyoung knew it was only so long before Jaehyun would snap. As to whether Johnny asking him out on a date within the same day had anything to do with it, Doyoung is still unsure.
After all, he now had Johnny after him too and from the looks of it, he was looking for more than just an emotionless hookup and Doyoung thinks maybe it’s about time he does too. It’s clear which one of the two Jungwoo would rather push him towards.
“Are you done yet?” Jaehyun calls out impatiently, “if you don’t touch me in the next minute I think I might die.”
Doyoung scoffs loudly at Jaehyun’s dramatics but glances over to see that his face is dead serious.
There is sweat beading up on his forehead and the look of utter desperation on his face sends a thrill down his spine. He carefully removes his fingers from inside him and wipes them carelessly on the Jaehyun’s sheets.
He makes up for it by straddling Jaehyun once again. He rolls his hips down once, groaning at the feeling of Jaehyun’s hot length sliding against his ass and over his hole.
His own hands are beginning to shake in anticipation and desperation as he opens a condom and rolls it onto Jaehyun’s straining cock. Jaehyun’s hisses loudly at the contact and bucks wildly into the touch, but Doyoung is quick to remove his hand as soon as the condom in on.
He has half a mind to tease more but the other half is screaming at him to get Jaehyun’s cock inside of him already. He uses one hand to steady the base of his cock as he lines it up with his entrance.
He takes a deep breath in and on the exhale he lowers himself fully until his ass is flush with Jaehyun’s hips. He lets out a cry just as Jaehyun lets out a choked moan. Doyoung’s eyes start to water at the sensation as he begins to ride Jaehyun.
He attempts to keep a slow and steady pace, but even then he feels as if he could already cum any second now. He marvels at the fact that Jaehyun’s stupid dick somehow manages to feel even better every single time they fuck.
Doyoung has the sudden urge to kiss him, so he does, leaning forward to muffle Jaehyun’s noises his mouth and slide their tongues messily against each other. He allows every other thought to be thrown out the window, they could all be dealt with later.
Jaehyun isn’t holding back now, his fingers grip onto Doyoung’s hips tightly as he thrusts up to meet Doyoung’s every move. His eyes are squeezed shut and his mouth hangs open to let out every gasp and moan without a care of who hears him.
For now, all he cares about his chasing his own pleasure and he wasn’t going to let anything get in his way.
Much later, they lie side by side, both out of breath and fucked out after, what was it? Round three? It’s around this time that Doyoung usually gets ready to leave.
He closes his eyes, allowing himself to enjoy the comfort of the bed for just a moment longer before he sits himself up with a groan to begin the task of locating his clothes.
“You know you can stay over,” Jaehyun says quietly and Doyoung turns to look at Jaehyun in surprise only to find he’s turned onto his side facing away from him, “my place is closer to work anyway and I can give you a ride in the morning.”
But as it stands, he’s exhausted and his ass is sore and the journey home is longer than he’d like to endure in this state so he silently climbs back into bed, grabbing the covers off the floor and pulling them over the two of them.
He’ll make an allowance just this once, he tries to tell himself, although he has a sneaking suspicion that might instead end up being the first of many.
Maybe if Doyoung was in a better headspace he would have declined the offer. The logical part of his brain can list off at least ten reasons why staying over is a bad idea. He’s never tried to stay over any of the times they’ve fucked and Jaehyun has never offered either.
- Doyoung wakes up to find himself pressed up against a warm body. It takes him a few minutes to remember where he is and who he's with and notice the arm slung loosely over his torso. He mentally berates himself at the sight of a still sleeping Jaehyun curled up next to him.
It's funny the clarity a night's sleep can bring and it seems it's only now that he's begun to process his actions from the night before. He wouldn't say that he regretted the experience, it was enjoyable from an objective standpoint,
As carefully quietly as possible, he peels himself out of Jaehyun's hold as not to wake him up. With a sigh, Doyoung picks up the pieces of his clothes scattered over the floor and heads to the bathroom to get ready for the day ahead of him.
but he can't seem to get rid of an uncomfortable, lingering feeling resting heavy inside his chest and making him feel as if it's a little hard to breathe. He washes the remnants of last night off of him, hoping to wash away the feeling as well although that meets little success.
By the time Doyoung exits the bathroom, dressed in his clothes from the day before, Jaehyun is awake and sitting up on his bed. He glances over at Doyoung but doesn't say anything. He simply gets up and walks past him straight into the bathroom.
"Are you doing anything today after work?" Jaehyun asks.
He's just parked in the car and he looks over expectantly at Doyoung sitting in the passenger seat. /Yes I'm busy./ Or at least, that's what Doyoung should be saying.
"I'll have to check my calendar," he says instead.
"OH," he says, laughing nervously, "I'm just gunna...go get some coffee...do you two want anything?"
Mark doesn't give either of them a chance to reply before he's off and not even in the direction of the staff room. Jaehyun walks Doyoung the rest of the way to his desk.
Jaehyun nods, face impassive and they both silently get out of the car and make their way up to the finance department.
"Hey boss! Hey Doyoung!" Mark greets them as soon as they get off the elevator, "looks like you guys arrived at the same time today.
Wait Doyoung, weren't you wearing that outfit yester-"
Mark cuts himself off when he realizes there are two pairs of eyes glaring at him and as he looks between his boss and Doyoung, the realization begins to dawn on him.
He’s asked Mark at least twelve times if Doyoung’s said anything and each time Mark’s response is the same.
“No boss, Doyoung hasn’t said anything. Yes boss, I’ll let you know right away if he does.”
His eyes dart around nervously as he watches Doyoung get unpack his bag.
"Have a good day at work, I guess," Jaehyun says, "and let me know once you figure out your schedule."
"Will do," Doyoung mumbles, looking down.
He doesn't look back up until he hears Jaehyun's footsteps walking away and door to his office click shut.
Jaehyun waits the whole day for a response from Doyoung, ears perking every time he hears his doorknob turn or his phone buzz.
which was apparently set for Friday, aka tomorrow evening. Mark also discloses that apparently Doyoung had smiled the entire duration of Johnny’s visit and had very enthusiastically said “I can’t wait” before Johnny left.
What Jaehyun has found out, however, is that Johnny has once again dropped by Doyoung’s desk. According to Mark, who he had sent earlier to spy and eavesdrop on their conversation, Johnny had come to confirm the details of their upcoming date,
This last part doesn’t sit well with Jaehyun and he sorta wishes Mark had just left it out of his account of events. He can’t think of one instance where Doyoung had ever smiled at him, aside from lustful smirks in bed.
By the end of the day, he’s made the decision that answer or no answer, he would check-in with Doyoung once they got off work. However, he exits his office only to find Doyoung’s desk empty. A nearby intern tells Jaehyun that he’s just left for the day.
Damnit. That was answer enough.
Doyoung never left work early, often pushing the limits of how late he could stay just to get any additional bit of work done.
Doyoung’s eyes flick up to meet his anxiously and he gives him a small nod in greeting.
“I didn’t want to be seen leaving the office with you too often,” Doyoung explains, “don’t want anyone getting the wrong idea.”
“Right,” is all Jaehyun says in return.
He stares at the vase of dead roses still resting untouched in the corner of Doyoung’s desk before walking out of the office with a despondent sigh. He doesn’t know why he held his hopes so high, he should have seen this coming.
He’s still moping as he enters the parking garage, already mentally making plans to go straight to bed when he gets home when he notices a figure leaning against his car. He lets out a quiet gasp as he gets closer and recognizes the figure as Doyoung.
He keeps his mouth shut though, having a feeling Doyoung would not appreciate that comment. He’s lucky Doyoung is even in the car with him right now and he doesn’t want to do anything to scare him off. He drives out of the garage and steps on the gas, anxious to get home faster.
He unlocks his car and they both get in silent. Jaehyun wants to point out that Doyoung flirts with the CEO very publicly at his desk and ask how that was any better than being seen leaving with him.
- Friday comes and Doyoung isn’t at this desk or his car after work. Jaehyun had expected this much, Doyoung was likely already with Johnny on their /date/ by now and he can’t help but feel peeved.
He brushes it off, there’s no reason for him to be feeling like this, but the idea of Doyoung and Johnny sitting across from each other at a fancy restaurant as they share a dessert doesn’t sit right with him. Especially after the night they had yesterday.
Jaehyun wonders if Doyoung will sleep with Johnny. He doesn’t seem like the type who would be against fucking on the first date, after all, he fucked Jaehyun barely an hour after meeting him. The thought leaves a bitter taste in Jaehyun’s mouth. -
Saturday night, Jaehyun’s phone lights up with a text from Doyoung. “I’m coming over in 15 minutes,” is all it says. He offers no explanation as to why nor does he bother permission first either. It’s a clear statement of a decision that’s already been made.
But it’s not like Jaehyun would say no to it anyway. He’s been stewing alone at home all day now and the prospect of any sort of company, especially from Doyoung does sound appealing.
Doyoung shows up, dressed in a hoodie and track pants.
His hair in unstyled and a pair of wire-rim glasses rests on his nose. Jaehyun wonders if he’s weird for thinking that Doyoung looks better like this than he does when he’s all dressed up in business casual.
He waltzes into Jaehyun’s apartment, not even bothering to wait for him to invite him inside. Doyoung throws his jacket over an armchair and plops down on the couch with a sigh.
“Hi,” Jaehyun says cautiously, sitting himself down beside Doyoung, “what brings you here?”
“Hey yourself,” Doyoung replies noncommittally, “and I’m positive you already know why I’m here so I don’t see why you’re bothering to ask that question.”
Jaehyun nods slowly, there’s only one reason Doyoung comes to his place but he makes no move to get started.
He’s not quite ready to start tearing off clothes just yet. “How was your date with Johnny last night?” he asks, half-blurting it out in an attempt to find something to talk about. Doyoung’s expression briefly shifts into one of suspicion before he neutralizes it once again.
“You don’t have to ask that,” he says cooly.
Jaehyun knows he doesn’t have to ask that, but that doesn’t change the fact that he wants to know. Of course, he doesn’t tell this to Doyoung.
“Like I’ve said before,” Doyoung explains with a shrug, “we’re just going on dates. I told him I wanted to keep it open and casual while test the waters and get to know each other. I don’t see how that has to affect the little /arrangement/ we have going on.
“I’m just curious,” Jaehyun says, trying to make himself seem indifferent, “it’s not every day someone goes on a date with the CEO.”
Doyoung gives Jaehyun one more strange look but answers anyway, “It was fun, I have a good time. Johnny’s an interesting guy.
We set another date for next week.”
Jaehyun purses his lips, “If the date went well then why are you here?”
He’s almost afraid to ask the question, but the curiosity inside of him outweighs his hesitation.
“Now if you’re done asking questions,” Doyoung says, moving towards Jaehyun and sliding himself onto his lap, “I’m horny and would like to get on with what I came here for.”
That’s something to address when and if the time comes that either Johnny or I want to take it to the next level.”
The answer makes sense and whether he personally agrees with Doyoung’s choices or not, he’s not going to question them.
- It’s startlingly how easily they fall into a routine. They never plan for it and neither really have any expectations but even so, on most days after work, Jaehyun will find Doyoung will waiting for him either at his desk or by his car.
On the weekends, Doyoung will show up at his door after the sun’s gone down without so much as a warning. Even on the evenings Doyoung chooses to stay late to work overtime, Jaehyun still waits for him, quietly doing his own leftover work in his own office until Doyoung’s done.
These are the only evenings, after the office is deserted and empty except for the two of them, that Doyoung will be the one to seek Jaehyun out, knocking on his office door and telling him he’s ready to go.
Work has somehow become more efficient. They no longer ignore each other and the times they have to work with each other are no longer filled with an awkward tension.
The only times they don’t spend their nights together are when Doyoung has plans with Jungwoo, or the nights of his weekly date with Johnny. Jaehyun finds it a bit hard to fall asleep on those nights.
Their lives at work begin to resemble any ordinary boss/employee relationship and it’s one of the things Doyoung is most grateful to have come out of their arrangement. Jaehyun eases up on Doyoung’s workload and somehow the department runs better than ever.
Even Mark, who has always been a diligent worker, seems to become more efficient.
Johnny still visits often, usually on Doyoung’s lunch break to either sit with him in the staff room or take him out on occasion.
Jaehyun makes sure to hide in his office during these times, dragging Mark with him to keep him company as they eat their lunches in tense silence. From the bits and pieces he hears from Mark, things seem to be going well enough between Doyoung and Johnny.
That Jaehyun’s apartment is much closer to work and it was only logical that he stay over. He makes sure to keep one extra set of clothes in his bag, and another set at Jaehyun’s place.
They’ve yet to take their relationship further, as evidenced by the amount nights Doyoung still spends at Jaehyun’s apartment, but he tries not to bring the topic up anymore.
The only thing he should be focused on is what Doyoung did with him, which was quickly starting to become a lot.
Most notably is the new habit Doyoung's developed of staying over at Jaehyun's. He uses the same excuse Jaehyun had brought up the first time he slept over.
As curious as he is, he doesn’t think asking is worth the inevitable twisted feeling he’ll get in his stomach afterwards. If he’s honest, he has no desire to hear about what Doyoung does or doesn’t do.
Doyoung even starts to stay over on the weekends, when neither one of them can use the excuse of work the next day to justify themselves. Neither brings it up either.
Even if they both are pretty sure Mark knows everything that’s going on between the two of them, Doyoung doesn’t want to risk any more little comments from him about his repeated outfits after a night at Jaehyun’s.
It’s simply for convenience, they tell themselves. A convenience that begins to extend to quick breakfasts together in the morning and proper dinners before they fell into bed.
The fact of the matter is they’ve gotten comfortable with each other. Jaehyun has long since admitted the company wasn’t the worst thing in the world, especially now that they’ve gotten better at talking to each other.
On the weekends he stays over, they’ll wake up at noon and spend entire days on the couch watching movies and eating takeout, in between rounds of sex and making out, until Doyoung eventually falls asleep on his lap and Jaehyun has to carry him to bed.
It’s mostly mundane chatter about work and hobbies to fill up the silence, but it’s still nice. He'd never bothered to talk to any of his hook-ups before, figuring there was little point in getting to know them if they were just going to be gone in two weeks.
Before the only person he had to talk to was really just his assistant, and Mark was being paid to be in his presence. Maybe it's because he hasn't had a proper since his school days and that's why he finds it so comforting to spend time with Doyoung.
He wonders if after Doyoung gets together with Johnny that they'll continue to stay /friends/. It's a slightly unsettling thought, but with how effortlessly Doyoung has inserted himself in Jaehyun's life in such a short period of time, he'd rather that than the alternative.
